Complete Images Actives with owner extensions (optional)

Some functionality are not distributed with Active Images. Indeed, they require the addition of free but owners extensions (not free) :

  • An MP3 encoder to export the audio ;
  • Managers additional fonts.

If you do not add these extensions, Active Images will work but you can not export the animation in audio mode (which does not prevent you from recording audio captions and create the file ".xia"). In addition, when using certain fonts (including fonts royalty free from the Internet) export may no longer work.

Add an MP3 encoder

Get from the Internet the dll of lame (usually called "lame_enc.dll"). Be sure to rename it "lame-enc.dll" (with "-", dash of 6, not with "_").

Copy it in the subdirectory "sox" of the installation directory and restart Active Images application.

This manipulation will not be necessary when the MP3 format patents have expired.

Add font managers

Visit the download page on the Flex site Adobe Open Source. Click on the link of the first line (Flex 4.5.1 Release), last column (Adobe Add-ons).

Open the downloaded file and copy the entire contents.

Open the subdirectory "flex_sdk" installation directory active image and paste everything you copied. Agree to merge all the files and overwrite all files.

Images Actives will now be able to accept a wide range of fonts.
